Complaint #: 45
Not providing a service but demanding money
I made a verbal contract to take this company on for 12 months to boost my business. They said they would take on my face book page and post every month and posts would reach 30 thousand people, the first post was completely irrelevant to my business and had a picture of rangitoto on it, I am in Hamilton. and it reached 18 people. The second post was just as bad. I have already paid them $500 and they are demanding $1100 in 7 days or they will take legal action.
Now I have to get lawyers involved...
They are aggressive , persistent bullies full of hot air and empty promises

Gopher is just a BIG scam. Please tell EVERYONE about this mob so they can save thousands. The biggest rip off in NZ at the moment.

Promised a 30% increase in on-line sales which ended up as a 30% decrease.
All calls were supposedly recorded until we requested a copy and then nothing except the recording of the verbal contract. They are a company that can't be trusted. We now have a judgement on our company to the tune of $365.00 plus costs after we spent $4200.00 with them to no avail. Please don't get involved with this company as they do not deliver but do a lot of taking of hard earned money. We could be forced to contact the Commerce Commission.

Very similar experience to mine. They are not interested in providing service, just getting that sale. I believe their salespeople to actual people providing actual services within the company are about 10 to 1, as there are around 100 persons working the phones at their Parnell Office.

I have started a facebook page about bad experiences with this company - please leave your comments and Like if this applies to you

As a previous employee and share holder in Gopher NZ LTD I can only advice that you avoid dealing with this company at all cost's.

I was made redundant from Gopher NZ LTD illegally and due to the company doing a corrupt deal with it's new owners I was unable to get my investment back or seek compensation for unfair dismissal.

I thought the likes of BJ Sveistrup and John Campbell (Gopher founder's) were friends and people I could trust. They persuaded me to invest in the company whilst they were under financial difficulty with the promise that the company would be sold but this never eventuated.

I worked there for 5 years and if they are willing to treat me this way then you can only imagine how they treated their customers. I saw first hand the inappropriate manner in which the customers were treated.

The company has changed name and they have reduced staff right down to a skeleton staff. New Zealand isn't short of digital advertising agencies so do your research and find a company you can trust.

A leopard doesn't change it's spots and the new owners knew exactly what they were buying into.

As per my Investment contract I should have been paid back my initial investment as soon as I was made redundant and wasn't even contacted as a creditor to make a claim when they were liquidated 6 months later.

Gopher NZ LTD, Saturn 6 or Pattern have some explaining to do and some money to pay back.

I can go into this A LOT more but I feel this is adequate enough as an introduction.
