Broken promises, where is my refund?
I ordered a spa online from this supplier, I was looking for a supplier who didn't demand 100% payment until delivery, just to give me some assurance that the spa would definitely be in good working order. I chose based on written (email) terms of 20% deposit, rest to be paid on delivery. Great, I thought. Trouble is, it was complete nonsense. They were happy to take my money on this basis (they've still got it!) but the terms turned into pay 100% before delivery. They were also pretty rude, taking a "it's your problem" attitude. I'm not trying to rip them off, I expected to pay the full price, so I then offered to pay 75% upfront, which I thought was pretty reasonable of me. They refused. It was pay 100% or take my money back. Why? Do they fear the spa will not be working properly? I had no confidence in them by this point so I opted for money back. It appears that an offer of "money back" has as much basis in reality as "rest of payment on delivery". In my experience, these people are unreliable and appear to to be prone to serial falsehoods! I'll eventually get my money back because I will take them to court if necessary. However, if you are not keen on this much trouble check out the Google Reviews and NZ Companies Office Register for a bit of background. I'd say check their Facebook but they seem to have taken it down - mine was not the only VERY negative review. My calls and emails to them are achieving nothing. I thought getting everything down in writing would safeguard my interests, but it wasn't enough.
