Complaint #: 54
Misplaced and broken luggage
I travelled as a business class passenger from Sydney to Christchurch on 8 July 2014. on arriving at ChCh airport, I was told my luggage had not arrived. When I complained I was told: "This happens all the time".
I had no night attire , no under clothes and no record of my accommodation booking. All in the lost case. I was told to ring a number that night and I would learn what had happened to my case.
I then had to ring round the motels to find out where I had booked, as I had no record, that being in my lost case. After several false calls I eventually located my motel. At this point feeling enormously stressed.
That night I rang what turned out to be a recorded message. I rang twice more at 7.30 am and 8 a.m. At 9 a.m. eventually reaching a person who told me my case had arrived and she did not know what time it would be delivered.
I had business to attend to in ChCh and was out when the case was returned with all its zippers open and the wheels totally missing, thus rendering the case useless.
I rang Emirates the next morning and was told to email them.
This I have done 3 times with no response.
All I am asking is for bonus frequent flyer points.
I believe I have suffered stress, inconvenience and worry . I was not offered the normal $200 for the purchase of toilet items, night attire, nor have I been offered any apology for what I have suffered. In all it has been :" Look, things happen. Wear it!". Not the way to encourage
product loyalty.
