Business overview
Located in Manukau, Auckland, Consumer Complaints is an independent company focusing on providing consumers a means to submit, read and resolve complaints as conveniently as possible. We strive to give consumers a voice when they need it the most. Our website has been carefully developed with usability being the priority. Our user testing as revealed the site to be very easy to use, particularly when submitting a complaint.
Why a complaints website?
The Internet as we know it has been around for a few decades and almost every niche has websites fiercely competing for market share. But the consumer complaints niche has been greatly neglected. In fact, we were shocked to find out that no one had even registered consumercomplaints.co.nz domain name. So Consumer Complaints was started simply because consumers badly need it. There are some complaints forums and not-so-usable complaints websites out there already. But none have put in the effort we have with our site.

What makes Consumer Complaints an effective site?
We have not cut corners with the business model and design of the site. The site boasts a comprehensive 693 categories covering everything from tradespeople, retail, community to councils. In fact, you'll find a category slot for almost any type of business or organisation you can think of. Our site design and interface is also very practical and effective. We've kept graphics to the minimum and focused on what the user would want instead. Our users can save complaints to favourites, give a business thumbs down and post comments at complaints. Members can also email other members using our contact form. In a nutshell, our site has been carefully designed to cater for consumers of all works of life.
We are not in it for business bashing
Even though a website full of complaints may seem one sided and unfair on businesses, in actual fact it is very fair. We give businesses free access to post their side of the story by commenting at complaints concerning them. They can also email the complainant if they prefer to deal with the complaint privately. The main idea is to get the complaint resolved. We don't see how trying to facilitate the resolving of a complaint a bad thing. Once a complaint has been resolved the complainant can mark it as "Resolved".
Won't some businesses get a bad name?
We don't believe they will unless a business finds itself dealing with a huge number of complaints or finds it hard to resolve complaints. The aim of the business should be to try and get its complaints marked from "Unresolved" to "Resolved". And the only way they can get this done is by working with the complainant and sorting out the problem. So it's not the actual complaint that businesses should be worried about. But how they deal with the complaint should be their main concern.
