General terms
Consumer Complaints merely provides a platform for consumers to submit and view complaints. It's no different to a consumer posting complaints at Social Networking sites or at Blogs. Consumer Complaints does not initiate complaints. Interactions between consumers and businesses is the catalyst for complaints being submitted.
Consumer Complaints assumes that consumers post complaints with a positive intent. All complaints are automatically accepted in good faith and publicly viewable immediately. We believe consumers submit complaints in order to get their voice heard with the prime goal of getting the complaint resolved.
Consumer Complaints views a complaint as a situation experienced by a consumer in relation to a business or organisation. This description is based on a person's personal opinion and is no way the view of Consumer Complaints. We are not in control of the way a complaint is interpreted by our visitors. So we are not responsible for opinions formed by others about certain businesses and organisations after reading complaints at our site.
Consumer Complaints does not validate complaints. Nor do we get involved in resolving complaints or take sides. We also do not actively edit, delete or censor complaints or comments. We do however at times edit or delete complaints where we believe our terms of service have been violated.
Once a complaint has been submitted, you automatically grant Consumer Complaints the right to ownership of that complaint without any compensation. We may use the complaint in any way we see fit without your consent. Complaints cannot be edited or deleted. The same holds true for comments posted under a complaint.
We reserve the right to suspend members who violate our terms and conditions or causes issues that affect our business or website.
Consumers
Consumers submitting complaints must ensure they comply with our complaint policy.
Once you've submitted a complaint or posted a comment, it cannot be edited or deleted. The complaint and comment automatically become the property of Consumer Complaints.
It's the consumer's responsibility to ensure they provide honest information in their complaints. Complaints should not reveal personal information about a person that does not relate to the complaint.
Complaints that have been resolved should be marked as "Resolved" as soon as possible.
Businesses can also post complaints as they themselves are consumers as well. Business accounts are no different to consumer accounts and both use the same registration page.
You are not to submit false complaints under any circumstance. Consumer Complaints is about sharing genuine honest complaints. It's not an outlet for personal vendettas or competitor bashing. Those caught submitting unscrupulous complaints or comments will have their account permanently deleted and IP address banned from accessing this site.
You agree to completely indemnify Consumer Complaints, its directors and employees against any losses or costs which may arise from your complaint. You also understand that Consumer Complaints cannot be held responsible for any actions taken against you due to the contents of your complaint or comment.
Businesses & organisations
Businesses must follow our complaint resolving policy when trying to tell their side of the story or trying and resolve complaints made against them.
Businesses are free to join and post comments or email complainants directly in order to get their complaints resolved. Getting complaints resolved is one of the key objectives of Consumer Complaints so business participation is encouraged.
We do not validate complaints so if a business finds a complaint that appears to be not genuine, the business needs to make a request to the complainant to verify the facts. Such requests can be made using the "comment" section of the complaint or by emailing the complainant directly.
Businesses need to understand that Consumer Complaints is just a means for consumers to voice their concerns. If a business tends to get a lot of complaints then they need to seriously look at how well they are meeting customer expectations. Consumer Complaints website is not the cause of their problem. They are.
Consumer Complaints simply ignores all threats of defamation lawsuits lodged against it. Our user agreement indemnifies us and we cannot be held responsible for what consumers state in their complaints. We will however under court's instruction remove complaints or comments and also supply any other details required.
