Mis-sold ski passes and refusal to refund
In July we decided to ski at Mt Dobson after seeing on their website that their chair lift was open and a phone call also confirmed. When we got there the lift wasn't operating, we were told when purchasing tickets that they were doing last minute prep and it would open shortly, "warm up on the other slopes whilst you are waiting". After half an hour it was still not open and we were told a staff member had had an accident but it would open shortly, but it still didn't open. The weather started to turn and the lift not opening was now blamed on the weather. An hour and a half later than it should have opened. We asked to have our money back as the only reason we had come was for that main slope - the other slopes were not advanced enough for us to truly enjoy. Even though he had just offered some other people to ski FOR FREE as the weather was bad. We were refused our refund. We were offered a voucher for another day, but we were leaving the area that day and so it was useless to us. We insisted a refund was the only fair resolution and the owner got angry and rude. He told us to go away and pushed me out the way so he could close his door in our faces. We were shocked, and still are, that an owner of a customer facing company can be this rude. We hate to think that men like him can snatch our money and run without repercussions
