Vulnerable telly-ad customers please read
Hope you will read this before considering buying from the TV shop.

This company had 35 complaints to the Commerce Commission last year and makes the list of top companies complained about.

I purchased a Powerfit Gym in December 2015 and returned it almost immediately after trying it out once. The machine itself is not like other proper vibration platforms I've used both at the gym and at home. There was very little in the way of specifications and this is important to know when using this kind of machine. Finally the instructions were poorly translated.


The dealings I have had since have been nothing short of appalling. After returning the machine and being assured of a refund and cancelled payments, I have received neither.

This company has obstructed me every step of the way. First they said they hadn't received my return. Then they "found it". I have been particularly careful to comply with their return policy. They are either incredibly slow or just do not answer emails. Talking to them on the phone is shocking and finally I have a manager's name and email, but she is not responding either.

I hope this helps you make a decision whether to deal with them or not.

I have just posted in a few local forums asking about purchases to and from TV Shop. It seems there's quite a number.
Personally, I was told in December that I received my item. I have not. Nor was there anything left saying I missed a courier. I asked and they said I'd be contacted within 48 hours.
56 hours later, I call back being told again the same thing. I explain I've been promised before and they say that this has been escalated to managers to call back within 48hours.

I have sent multiple emails without response. I have called asking specifically for a refund given the items were not on their way.

I called their purchasing shop to see if I could get further. I had to leave a message for someone to call me back about purchasing someone and so I asked to be placed to somewhere I can make a complaint. THIS man gave a track and trace number. HOWEVER, when calling NZPost the track and trace was literally made ON THE DAY I called. There was no package "on its way"

Yes they are terrible and clearly don't want to help even though they call it customer service.

Unresolved could I have the name of the manager and her email please.
I don’t seem to be getting answers to my many questions and would like to know who it is that I need to be talking too.Thanks ,will post again when I get somewhere!

I have unresolved issues with emails back and forth over the last 40 days.
They keep telling me that they don’t have stock when in fact they do.I have
checked the website daily and have placed the item in my cart.Gone as far
as payment but haven’t paid because I don’t want to buy it at full price.I had purchased it, at weekly special price that they agreed to honour but haven’t done so yet ,because they don’t have it in stock . I have told them that I don’t want a refund and am prepared to wait till the item is in stock.

Hi Ravi. It was such a long time ago, I’m not sure who I dealt with now. Personally, I would exercise extreme caution in handing over money to them.
