Complaint #: 231
Dean Alexander
Dean Alexander former Gopher director is still at it ripping people off. He is now under the business name of AGM Digital. Nice as pie when you are giving him money. He has made promises of 40% conversion rates, demands 4 to 6 months in advance for google ad word campaigns that sent even set up properly, then when you decide to take your website to someone else you find out that he has been doing the reporting under his own google anlitics account instead of yours. He then won’t release history even tho you have paid ad word campaigned every month. Has a copy of your email inquired sent to him after you have seized trading with him. Puts blocks on your domain address. The list goes on. Vindictive and nasty person to deal with. Don’t be suckered in with the free website.

I am having similar issues now.

SEO not being done and when I try to talk to Dean calls and emails are not being returned.

They are now telling me they wont give a refund even though I have paid 12 months in advance for SEO.

The reports they have provided are either not for our company or I'm paying for a Christchurch company's SEO. We are based in Auckland only.

I suspect I am being feed a pack of lies.

Hi LBJ39, sorry not sure which account the this is, if you would like to email im happy to work through this with you. These posts can be extremely damaging so please consider the effect on third parties, employees etc. A few things for clarity, I was an employee of Gopher, when I left to launch the agency my clients came with me. AGM is the only agency to publicly publish industry results, something we are proud of, conversion rates are not promised, however across all client Sept we averaged 38.1%. Initial term is 4 months, yes, to allow for Ai to reach maximum effectiveness. We do not report through google analytics. Cannot comment on email, we dont keep them though. Certainly don't 'block domains' - Dean

Same old story with us. We have paid our invoices and after a request to get our google ads ID we have had all calls and emails blocked.

Hi Rohelle, remember this & the two Agency testimonials from CJcant ?

I have advised Yellow this morning that we wish to terminate our contract with them immediately in regards to our online advertising...

So if possible we would like to get back up and running with AV as soon as possible as we had been for the last few months. In the new year (Jan / Feb) once our Yellow issue has been sorted we will divert that budget ($1250) to AV and then pull our 2018 full page advert diverting that budget (additional $1250) to AV also making the base line monthly budget of $2500+gst.

Lastly I would like to thank you for your assistance with this matter. Once again a situation I could have avoided if I had discussed things with you prior to making any decisions (lesson learnt).

Regards
Royston Cant | Manager | CJ Cant Limited | plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying

To post publicly that we blocked your calls and email is ridiculous and frankly insulting. I wont have integrity of my staff or myself questioned and as you have done so publicly I see no reason why I should consider breaking our terms of service, The agency is under no obligation to grant access to our ip & most certainly would not allow a third party access to clone campaigns producing 81% CVR & 250+ Calls per month.

Shame on you for posting this.

The director of this company is a complete conman and convicted criminal, he changed his name from Dean Artmanni to Dean Alexander to cover up his dirty past.
He's actually really good at manipulating people and will come across really friendly and genuine.
Google Dean Artmanni to get the truth

BEWARE OF DEAN ALEXANDER!!

Where do we even start? Long story short, we took Dean Alexander of Alexander Group Media Limited to court back in October 2018 as he basically stole money off us and didn’t provide the service he promised. He didn’t show up to the court hearing, he then filed for a rehearing and was granted it due to having a doctors certificate, but he didn’t turn up to that rehearing in December 2018 either. He was ordered to pay us $4,812.00 and today, after loads of promises we have not seen a cent.

His company, AGM Digital or Alexander Group Media Limited, has now gone into receivership. Interestingly though, he went into receivership on 12 March 2019, then only three days later it’s all done and dusted; no creditors were contacted during this time. More interestingly, the Receiver (J. M Gilbert of C & C Strategic Limited) has been in prison for fraud previously. He was also the Receiver for Gopher, another fraudulent company Dean Alexander was involved with.

The following links are all in relation to Dean:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/3820966/Conmans-sentence-labelled-ridiculous. His real name isn’t Dean Alexander, it was Dean Artmani and Dean Benfell previously.

This is a youtube video that someone has recently posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaP0uqTtw5g.

This is another court case regarding him and an ex-employee: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=12149502, which we know he hasn’t paid out yet.

There are various court cases going on with him at the moment and he owes ALOT of people money.

STAY AWAY FROM ANY COMPANY THAT HE IS INVOLVED WITH. See here for a list of those companies: https://app.companiesoffice.govt.nz/companies/app/ui/pages/individual/search?q=Dean+Stephen+Peter+ALEXANDER&roleType=ALL&indEntityTypes=ALL&indEntityStatusGroups=ALL&indShrStatus=ALL&advancedPanel=true&mode=advanced&expandedResults=#results

Amazingly talented at searching Google, not much of an IQ when it comes to separating fact from fiction.

Do you really have nothing better to do than bitch, moan & make up fanciful stories about companies that refuse to supply you company services?
Tai - ‘stole’ is not quite accurate is it? tribunal re-hearing is set for the coming months, so let’s wait for the outcome and keep the warrior away from the keyboard.

If you did your research properly then no doubt you would have come across numerous awards, accolades & reviews, both professionally & for all the companies I’ve worked for over the last 10 years in this industry, which of course are redacted.

Yes, in my mid-twenties after returning from a decade overseas I hacked Westpac bank, an intrusion that was so technically proficient that the police, to this day, have no idea how it was accomplished, just so where on the same page, now in my mid 40’s that’s almost two decades ago. There was no ‘con’ artistry or fraud charges, only accessing a computer for dishonest purpose. If any conclusion can be drawn it is that obviously I know what I’m doing with computer systems & the most qualified to build digital ad platforms.

I paid my debt on the day, now have no criminal record & only the odd parking ticket in the last 18 years. In the eyes of the government, by law, I have earned the write to be forgotten, however If you really want to harp on about ‘how I’m out to get everyone’ then sobeit, really its just a minor irritation and of no consequence.

AGM is now in fact in liquidation, as was planned.

If anyone needs updating or has any (current) issues they would like to discuss please feel free to call on 021 779 038,

Cheers,

Dean Alexander

From STUFF.CO.NZ 26/02/13
A home detention sentence for a fraudster who scammed shoppers on Trade Me and Ebay – and who robbed the bank account of a 12-year-old boy – has been labelled "ridiculous" by victims.

Dean Artmanni, 34, also known as Dean Benfell and Dean Alexander, was yesterday given six months home detention for over taking a total of $35,000. He faced 14 counts of accessing a computer for a dishonest purpose, one of receiving and one of using a document to obtain a service dishonestly.

"How ridiculous – what, so he can sit at home and play on his computer?" said Joanne Jenkins, a Christchurch woman whose bank account Artmanni stole from.

Artmanni transferred money from bank accounts, sold non-existent goods. He was also charged with receiving gold bars and jewellery stolen from a former Auckland City councillor whose house he was renting.
Court documents showed his principal method was simple – advertise an item on internet auction sites, wait for payment, then not deliver.

He set up bank accounts in Australia online and used them to fool Australian buyers into believing he was selling computer equipment, usually laptops.
He duped nine Australians into paying him amounts up to A$1575 (NZ$1950).

His activities became the focus of several internet chat forums and an internet page devoted to his exploits – Artmanni At Large – was set up.

Auckland man Nathan Bevin teamed up with a South Australian lawyer representing victims after Artmanni moved in with him as a flatmate, then stole his laptop.

Bevin said the $750 reparation he was awarded was a token and his satisfaction came from helping other victims gain a voice.

Judge Graham Hubble sentenced Artmanni in the Auckland District Court yesterday to six months home detention and ordered up-front reparation of $25,000, which was paid by a cheque Artmanni handed to the court.
