Hello, this has been an ongoing problem in our area, Far North, Opononi. We are living right in town. We have no mail delivery in the towns of Opononi/Omapere. People are given a PO BOX for free. But most companies don't deliver to PO Boxes. We pay a high rural delivery fee, but we do not get anything delivered to our address.

Most times mail and parcels get left in the 4 Square Shop. I have to walk 20 m from the parking lot to get to the counter or mail boxes and have to carry heavy parcels back. On Thursday I got a notice that my parcel got delivered and signed for. Okay I thought probably it is at the shop. It was not there. They said it will be coming on Tuesday, because of Easter. But on Saturday evening I received another mail from the sender that my parcel is ready to be collected. So I went today, Sunday.

I saw the parcel standing 2 meters away from me behind the counter. They said they don´t give it because it is a Public Holiday and that is the rule of nzpost. I can collect it in 2 days. I need this urgently... I left frustrated.
I am annoyed because we do not get our parcels and mail delivered but pay rural delivery.

I have to wait to get it out of the 4 square shop and I get an unfriendly treatment at the shop if I don´t buy anything from them. Sometimes parcels with perishable goods get stuck in the shop, but the senders all thinks they sent it directly to our residential address with courier post, which in rare occasions happens that it turns up at the house. Nobody is feeling responsible for this problem.
