No refund given
I booked a cottage over Easter but had to cancel due to Covid 19 on 23rd March. Despite many emails from Bookabach I have not received any refund for what I had paid (60% of the total cost). I asked the owner for help and while they acknowledge her contact, still no refund. They have very poor reviews online, something I wish I had read before I booked! I will never use them again. There seems to be no contact phone number for them. Stay away from them. I'm not even sure it's a Kiwi company.

Also same with BachCare and Holiday Houses. AirBnB seems best in this regard.

That's good to know about BachCare and Holiday Houses. Will stick with Air BnB. I finally got a refund from Bookabach but it took until May and they paid it back in 3 parts.

Yes had the same thing but back in 2017, paid $160 but had to change plans about 2 weeks later BUT I gave 12 MONTHS notice and lost my entire deposit. Just going through consumer complaints now.
