Dishonestly Obtained my credit card details
I booked accomodation with Barrington Motel via the website booking.com The booked noted free cancellation and the option to pay at the property. I was contacted by the motel owner you offered to wave a pet fee if I cancelled my booking with booking.com and booked directly with the motel commenting that it would save her money in fees too. I asked if the terms of free cancellation and. pay at the property remained the same and she said yes. I went through with the cancellation via booking.com. Unfortunately the day before travel one of my children became ill and email the motel to cancel my booking. To my surprise, my credit card was charged a cancellation fee of $280. I have asked the motel a number of times to advise how she obtained my credit card details and also argued the cancellation fee but she has refused to tell me how she obtained them , repeatedly saying that she told me that the booking remained the same as booking.com . My concern is that she obtained my credit card details without my permission and charged the amount before discussing a cancellation fee with me.
