Original booking done months in advance via booking.com as we new Labour Weekend would be booked out. Booking confirmed. Found out today, 4 days out, that our booking can no longer be honoured and was offered a 4 bed dormitory in Turangi for a family of 5. Original booking was for a 2 bedroom apartment in Taupo close to the event we need to attend. Rang motel directly to be informed that another party that were regulars customers wanted the accomodation so we have to now scramble to find suitable accomodation. Impossible due to being Labour weekend!! Nothing else available.
