I had booked the Village Motel for 3 nights with myself, my elderly mother and her cocker spaniel dog. We arrived for my mother's birthday and checked in without a problem. However when we returned from her birthday dinner as I drove into the complex there were no visible parking places..vehicles were everywhere. I got out of my car and spoke to 2 guys talking. They advised me to call the owners which I did. The woman owner would not listen even though she knew I was upset and annoyed...she kept talking over me! I could not get through to her so hung up! I was still in my car and I remarked to my mother "what a B***h!" Unfortunately my phone was still on and she heard the remark. Next minute she calls me and says her husband is on his way to see me! Omg this guy was in my face and accused me of being drunk and the woman said yes my mother was too..I had had 2 light beers and mum a wine with our meal. The woman also said our dog stunk! I was not getting anywhere and the ever a bare chested man came out at me! This time I did curse as I did not know who he was! Apparently he was her son!
By this time I had had enough and began to look other alternatives and told the husband that and I wanted a refund! The answer was NO! I did apologize for my remark earlier which she accepted.
They said the police were coming and said there was a space for my vehicle...I looked around and yes there was one spot at my rear which was not visible when you drive into the complex. I was on the phone when the police arrived and tapped on their window . They came into the unit and wished my mum a happy birthday and we explained what had happened. They could see we were not intoxicated and my mum staggering would havecl been part of her balance problem. She has never been drunk in her 78 years.
One officer went to see the owners and came back to say yes we could stay...all resolved and the car space on front of the unit suddenly came available. The next morning when we were visiting friends and on their doorstep my phone rang and it was the woman from the motel requesting a meeting with me. I explained I could not talk then as busy but could talk later and I would call her back. She started to talk over me again so I hung up. 90 minutes later I called her back abd she asked me if the police had been in contact with me ..incredulous I said No. She then said she was going to get a trespass notice on us. We coukd stay that night but not the next! I had had enough! I got hold of a pet friendly motel for 1 night somewhere else but was not happy. The next day the same woman yelled at my mum when she was walking the dog to take him outside the complex when she was only coming back in and she replied she already had!
The woman knocked on the unit door at 9.30 am making sure we were leaving at 10 am which I replied yes...and I shut the door and tired to have a good conversation with her which was better but the excuse now for our leaving was because our dog stunk .
