Not as advertised
Dear Sir or Madam,
I wish to complain regarding a Motel that my husband and I stayed in on Thursday 26th May 2022,
The motels was called RAYMAR MOTOR INN, 164 High Street, Blenheim Central,
We were quoted $130 for the night which was a good price.When we arrived there the owner came
to meet us and said" The unit (6) he was going to put us in he felt was not really upto date",but he showed
us anyway and we" said for one night it was ok "he told us we could have if for $80.We jumped at the chance
being we are Senior Citizens.If you look at the website of the rooms they are not true to his advertising.
The unit was clean with double bed and single bed,shower toilet,jug and fridge.Fresh clean towels and face cloths.
Was not until we wanted to wash our hands etc we found the sink was Blocked.
The cupboard( half cupboard)that was holding the toaster,jug etc was rickety and only half built.
The Smoke Alarm was just sitting on the shelf with the non working TV. Finally got the TV working when
we left in the morning.
There were no Vents in Bathroom to let the steam out.
If we had had to pay $130 which was advertised not sure what we would have said,nothing nice tho.
We have since found out that he is using units as Emergency Accommodation and they have to share
a grotty stove and sink outside our Unit to cook meals.As we had to leave early in the morning to catch the ferry we did not have time to talk to the ownerregarding our complaints.But feel the advertising of this said Motel is not what it is on the website.
