Complaint #: 423
11 days Auckland to Taihpe. Courier? A joke!
Amerex are just a bunch of dont care numpties. A parcel picked up on 9 December in Auckland still hadn't arrived at an urban address in Taihape. by the 19th - 10 days on at that stage! A disabled person who hadnt left the house during that time had been waiting all day at the address for the delivery ever since it was picked up. And we found out yesterday from Amerex that a card had been left in the letter box with no indication of where the parcel was taken to, when they claim it "couldnt be delivered". Turns out the supposed courier delivery person had given it to someone else, not authorised, and unknown by Amerex, to deliver. The official courier's phone number doesnt even exist! The woman at the Aramex depot in Whanganui, to whom I complained on the 19th was full of excuses but no apology. Said it would be left at the back door when authorised, as were Aramex parcels he receives, and that it would be delivered tomorrow (yesterday)". So where did it go? Not to the back door, but to the front door, and clearly visible from the road. Not even a knock on the dooor which the man would have heard, to indicate it had been left! Courier service? Hardly! Courier Post would have delivered it overnight. Even snail mail standard would not have taken 11 days. They can do a three day delivery to my alternative rural address! Great service from Courier Post always. But the vendor of the goods I purchased decided who would deliver it. I had been given no option. Trade me purchasers should consider stating to vendors that they wont pay for Amorex deliveries!

Do I have the right grounds to seek a full refund for this worse than smail mail 'non'courier service? Until this question is answered I dont think it could be said my issue is resolved, even though the parcel is now indoors at the address. Hence with no other option I had to click on 'unresolved'. The possible loss of the item, a Christmas present in part, and the stress about that for so many days, are the issue. We pay good money to have items delivered the fastest way possible. So if they aren't ,the service expected of a courier company has NOT been provided, and I contend that I SHOULDNT have to pay for it! Please advise, Consumer Complants.
